Let me introduce myself. My name is Renat and I’m 14 years old. I’m at the 9th form of a state secondary school. My favourite subjects are physics and IT. My hobbies are collecting stamps and photography. I’d like to tell you a few words about my family. Compared to other average families, mine is not large. It’s just me, my parents and my younger sister. We also have some pets: a dog named Ricky and a cat named Selma. We live in a new block of flats in the suburbs of Moscow. To reach the downtown we need to take a bus, then to switch to a metro train. So, all the entertaining facilities are rather far from us. However, my school and the company, where my parents work, are within ten minutes of walk from our building. That’s why we rarely use subway. I study six days a week, while my parents work only five days a week. At the weekends we visit the grandparents.
They live in the countryside, which is an hour away from us. My grandmother cooks her delicious pies and pilaf. These are her specialties. My grandfather often goes fishing and when I’m there, I go with him. My younger sister’s name is Alice. She is only five. When we are in the countryside, she asks me to give her a ride on a swing or a bike. By the way my parents’ names are Lidia and Vadim. They both work as managers. My grandparents are my mum’s parents. She is their only child, so I don’t have any uncles, aunts or cousins. Next year I will already be at high school, so I will have to think about my future career. My parents want me to become a lawyer, but I’d prefer to be an engineer, as I have good analytical and logical skills. All in all, I can say that our family is close-knit. We spend lots of time together and try to support each other when needed.
